A lesser-known effect of Oklahoma's new alcohol laws will finally allow bars and restaurants to observe “true” happy hours, with discounts and other differentiated pricing at any time of their choosing. We've been patiently waiting for this moment since 2016, and now we're ready to kick it off!
Oak & Ore’s Happy Hour will take place every week, Monday through Thursday, from 4-6 p.m. and from 9 p.m. to close. Our happy hour specials will include:
- $1 off all Oklahoma-made beer
- $4 rotating featured beer
- $6 cocktails
- special bar food menu
For October 1, the specials will run from 4 p.m. until closing time as part of the statewide celebrations observing the new laws, and Senator Stephanie Bice will join us for a celebratory toast!
As Oklahoma prepares for new and historic alcohol laws to come into effect this October, we're looking back at the legislation that changed the landscape for local breweries: Senate Bill 424, which, on August 26, 2016, finally allowed breweries to sell their full-strength beer on-premise. This gave way to the current boom in growth, with over a dozen new breweries or taprooms opening over the last 2 years, and another 20+ on the horizon.
This week, we're featuring breweries whose existence largely hinged on the passage of SB424, or whose behind-the-scenes work was incredibly important to its passage. Come join us and raise a glass to this brave new beery world!
